Dave Olsen is a piano player from Ottawa and has called Toronto home for the last 10 years. Dave studied jazz at Humber College between '90 and '94 with many great teachers such as Pat LaBarbera, Brian Dickinson, Hugh Fraser, George McFetridge, Ron Collier, Shelly Berger and Mike Farquharson. After graduation, Dave moved west for a year to Vancouver and started his own trio featuring Danny Parker on bass and Tom Foster on drums. Dave spent the summer of '95 in Victoria, playing weekly at Herman's jazz club with the Victoria Jazz Quartet, led by tenor saxophonist Noah Becker.

After returning back east, Dave went down to the Caribbean to work in the show band aboard the Costa Romantica cruise ship for seven months. The ship crossed the Atlantic to Europe, and Dave went to Paris where he spent the summer of '96 playing in a jazz trio at downtown bars and restaurants.

Shortly after returning to Canada, Dave joined the circus. He spent a year playing in the pit band that accompanied all the acts in the Garden Bros. Circus. After leaving the circus, Dave toured across Canada with tribute bands No Fences, a tribute to Garth Brooks, and Bennie and the Jets, a tribute to Elton John.

Dave went back to school in '99 for Computer Science at the University of Toronto and has been working as a software developer for the last 5 years. Dave joined a small startup called Intrigue Technologies that makes a great product called the Harmony Remote. Intrigue was aquired by Logitech in 2004 and Dave has continued to be part of the every growing team and momentum at Harmony. Dave is very exicited about the new release of his music coming in 2008!
